March Meeting

Over 30 members and guests attended the meeting with 3 Congo African Greys, a male Eclectus, a Goffins Cockatoo, a Moluccan Cockatoo, a Spectacle Amazon, a Sun Conure and a Timneh African Grey also joining the evenings events.
The CPC has again made a $500 donation to the University of Guelph for PDD research.
The CPC has sent its first donation cheque to Parrots4Pennies 2010 Challenge. This year proceeds will go to the slender billed parrots in Chile.
Dr. G. Strick, Due South Animal Hospital, will present on correct towelling of a parrot, wing clipping, nail and beak trimming through discussion and demonstations. He will also touch on what to do should a blood feather break and how to safely handle an injured parrot (both for the parrot and caregiver safety).
Members bringing their parrots to the meeting must obtain pre-approval no later than March 9 from Maggie at membership@calgarysexcamparrotclub.ca. Parrots MUST have a current avian health checkup. Please remember to clean up after your parrot at the meeting, thank you.
